ABOUT ALAN

Alan Keiser serves as Vice President, Business Development and Major Transactions Counsel for Commonwealth’s Philadelphia National Commercial Services (NCS) operation. Alan provides the services needed to close single site, multi-site and multi-state real estate transactions nationwide for investors, developers, REITS, corporations and lenders.

Alan has over 25 years’ experience in the title insurance industry serving as Regional Claims Counsel and Manager of the Philadelphia NCS prior to his current position. Previously Alan practiced real estate law with the firms of Toll, Ebby & Langer and Drinker Biddle & Reath, specializing in documenting and closing complex real estate transactions.

Alan is currently active in the Real Property and Probate Section of the American Bar Association, and serves on the advisory board of the Philadelphia District Council of the Urban Land Institute.

Alan received his B.A. degree magna cum laude from Dickinson College where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa, and his J.D. degree from Yale Law School where he was a member of The Yale Law Journal. From 1970-1973 he was a captain in the United States Air Force, assigned to the Honors Program of The General Counsel of the Department of the Air Force.

Alan has been married to his wife Shelby for 43 years and has two children and two grandsons. In his spare time, Alan is a serious fisherman, boater, furniture maker and wood turner, as well as a member of the boards of the Historic Preservation and Arts organizations.
